Intensive Moscow's Attacks Eliminate Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to water systems, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the urban area came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were injured.

The strikes come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and authorities were bracing for more assaults.
