The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.
The first season presents a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.
The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator stated recently. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.
That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating happens now.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.
"I've come across a couple people make a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on October 29.
